Apple patents personalized gestures for multitouch screens and motion sensors

In the series of invention patents that Apple has recently registered, si also enters one in which we describe some gestures for multitouch screens and devices equipped with motion sensors. Apple is trying to patent gestures such as "ok", "x to delete an application" or the "stamp of approval" gesture, but it could allow users to specify personalized gestures that their own devices can recognize. Some of these gestures will be implemented for touchscreen screens, but some of them will be implemented for devices equipped with motion sensors because touchscreen screens cannot even perceive any kind of gestures, such as the "ok".

Although capacitive touch sensor panels can detect objects hovering within the near-field of the panel, and appear to be "weak" touches, in some embodiments proximity sensor panels can be co-located with touch sensor panels to provide hover detection capabilities outside the near - field hover detection capabilities of capacitive touch sensor panels," the application read. "These proximity sensor panels can be arranged as an array of proximity sensors that can be scanned in a manner similar to the scanning of a touch sensor panel to generate an "image" of hover.

To be honest, I would like to have a device equipped with motion sensors that would activate the terminal based on my movements. I would like to be able to customize the gestures I use with my device and I'm sure many would like this. Such a technology would bring "uniqueness" to iDevices and allow users to customize their device almost completely.
