Apple will stop selling some peripherals in its own stores

After the announcement regarding the withdrawal of the MobileMe suite from the shelves of its own stores, Apple will now also stop selling certain peripherals and certain software suites. The company intends to remove from the shelves certain models of printers, scanners and hard disks, and on the software side, it could give up no less than 32 games. Even if these products will be removed from the company's shelves, they will be kept in the physical stock in the event that a customer wants to purchase them.

Among the products that will no longer be displayed in the retail stores are printers, scanners and possibly some hard drives. These peripherals will still be stocked in the store and available if a customer requests them.

At the point of sale, the Apple salesperson will still recommend the customer purchase one of those peripherals if they feel it fits in with the customer's purchase.

According to my sources, Apple is also getting rid of up to 32 game titles from its retail locations. That would reduce the number of games being displayed in the stores to around 8 per store.

This move by those from Apple is intended to make way for the new Personal Setup service through which certain employees help customers familiarize themselves with the company's products if they purchase a Mac or an iDevice for the first time.
