It happens to them too - Best Buy forces customers to buy warranty for iPad 2

Last week you will said that Best Buy would refuse to sell iPad 2 tablets to customers due to alleged exceeding of daily sales quotas. It was then rumored that Apple would have withdrawn all iPad 2 tablets from Best Buy stores, but in reality this did not happen and the company continues to sell the tablet without any restrictions. The problem now is that a customer was in a Best Buy store bound to buy a warranty extension for iPad 2 if he wanted to buy the tablet. Initially, the customer asked if there were iPad 2 tablets in stock, he was told no, but while walking around the store he noticed a stock of tablets, but when he wanted to buy one, he was told that he could only do so if he also purchased a warranty plan for the tablet worth $109.

I was at Best But yesterday while my girlfriend was buying a new pc and asked if they had any iPad 2 in stock and I was told no. As I strolled around I looked up and noticed at least 40
In an overhead lock up area so I inquired about them. I was told by an associate that they were all sold. Two minutes later a manager walks over and says the only way I could have one is if I bought a 109 dollar Best Buy protection plan.

I said that doesn't seem right. He then told to try and find one somewhere else they can do what they want.

Officially, Best Buy does not force customers to buy protection plans with tablets, but unofficially, some managers are overzealous and do not sell them without such a thing. It is interesting that Apple does not take any measures even though iPad 2 tablets are blocked in the stocks of certain Best Buy stores and customers are standing in lines in front of some Apple stores. In any case, things like this can also happen in the USA, not only in Romania.
