Developers accused of infringing patents after using Apple's in-app purchases system

This morning, several application developers from the US received by courier a set of documents by which they were notified that they would be sued for using the in-app purchases system of those from Apple. They are accused by a company (whose name has not been disclosed) of patent infringement posted by her. It is interesting that this system of in-app purchases was made available to developers by Apple, so Apple should be sued and not the developers who have no fault. In any case, several people received documents of this kind by mail and were asked to buy a license to use the system within 21 days.

Of course, the developers are now confused considering that Apple should answer to these accusations because the system was not made by the developers. So far, none of them have received any news from Apple's legal team and of course none of them will buy the license because they have no reason to. It's interesting the strategy of those who try to extract money from developers because they don't sue Apple but the people who use the technology developed by the company. I, for one, can't wait to see what Apple will say and I'm curious if any Romanian developer has received any notification of this kind.
