iOS 5 beta causes problems with terminals overheating

The beta versions of any programs are intended for those who need to test them and check if everything works without problems so that there are no problems for users at the official launch. Unfortunately, many iDevice owners do not understand this, so iOS 5 beta is installed on many terminals at the moment. An iPad owner with iOS 5 installed found that Wi-Fi stopped working after installing the tablet it was getting hot extremely loud during use. Things got to the point where the tablet could not be used at all and the screen temperature reached 65 degrees Celsius.

A PC Pro reader told us his first-generation iPad overheated after installing iOS 5, "to the point where it was almost burning". He claimed the screen reached a temperature of 65 degrees centigrade - despite being turned off - and the Wi-Fi chip stopped working. "I'm extremely concerned this is apparently a known issue and yet the iOS 5 download is still available." He was told by staff at the Apple Store in London's Regent Street that it was a "known issue" with first-generation iPads running the iOS 5 beta. "I'm extremely concerned this is apparently a known issue and yet the iOS 5 download is still available," the reader told us. The Apple Store initially refused to replace the developer's iPad, citing the terms and conditions attached to its beta software, before finally agreeing to provide a replacement and £60 of vouchers for the App Store in compensation.

The man went with the tablet to an Apple Store and after his request to change the tablet was initially refused, in the end the representatives of the store changed their mind and offered him a new tablet plus a £60 iTunes Gift card. The problem he encountered will most likely be solved before the official release of iOS 5, but the story is a good example for those who do not yet have iOS 5 installed. Beta versions have problems, they can cause overheating, crashes or who knows what else. After I installed iOS 5 beta 2, I woke up with the tablet in DFU Mode overnight, so there are problems, so be very careful.
