Last week I asked iH8sn0w if it would be possible to implement the exploit from jailbreakme.com 3.0 in a jailbreak solution for iOS 5 beta. Then he said that he will check if this porting is possible last night as well the changelog for sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 4 mentioned that the exploit from jailbreakme.com 3.0 cannot be ported to sn0wbreeze, redsn0w or PwnageTool. The only way that this jailbreak solution would work on iOS 5 beta would require the involvement of comex and the modification of the site from where we do the jailbreak.
Those wondering, the jailbreakme exploit cannot be integrated into applications such as PwnageTool/redsn0w/sn0wbreeze.
If no one succeeds in porting the exploit to iOS 5 beta then unfortunately it will remain available only for iOS 4 and will be closed by Apple in iOS 4.3.4 and iOS 5. Considering that Apple closes the exploit anyway- ul, it would have been good if we had had the possibility to make an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 beta and we would not have struggled with the tethered offered by redsn0 and sn0wbreeze.
