Apple collects screens for iPad 3, reduces orders for iPad 2

A few weeks ago there was a rumor claiming that Apple reduced the number of orders for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S tablets due to a decrease in sales of the two products. Well, the rumor turned out to be partly false because Apple has reduced the number of orders for the iPad 2, but not because the tablet won't sell anymore, but because it has an excess stock of 4-5 million units at the moment. Apple has prepared for an extremely busy winter season, but the company's partners are now also receiving the first components for the future iPad 3 tablet that will be launched in the spring.

Samsung and Sharp already began shipping panels for the next-generation iPads to Apple in October, and Taiwan-based touch panel makers TPK Holding and Wintek will begin to ship touch panels for the new iPads to the supply chain in November-December.

Samsung and Sharp are Apple's partners that would have started send already the first components at the assembly plants and we are talking about the screens of the future tablet. Although for now no one knows what kind of screen the Apple iPad 3 tablet will have, the latest rumors indicated that the Retina Display will finally make its appearance. If this is true, then we will have an ipad 3 tablet that will be worth buying without the slightest doubt, but only in the spring will we know what Apple has prepared for us considering that rumors rarely represent reality.
