1 million euros spent monthly on iPad tablets in Romania

Apple officially sells the iPad 2 tablet in Romania through resellers of Apple products and through several online stores and according to those from ZF this year, Romanians spent 1 million euros per month to buy tablets from the Cupertino company. The information represents estimates by those from Asus Romania who seem to have obtained it from Apple's partners. They claim that around 36.000 - 40.000 tablets will be sold in Romania this year, 40% of which would be Apple products. Moreover, this year in Romania, iPad tablets worth 11 million euros were sold, and here we include the sales made on the "grey" market.

Sales of tablets on the local market will reach a level of approximately 40.000 units by the end of this year, of which Apple owns approximately 40 percent with iPad tablets, according to Asus Romania estimates, which cites information on the local market. The estimate is made in the conditions where there is also a "grey" market of iPad tablets, these being sold both by Apple resellers and by those who unofficially import the devices from other countries, which makes this market a difficult one to estimate .

Those from ASUS made some estimates, they are probably different from reality, especially since they take into account the "grey market", so it is not known how accurate they would be. Only Apple knows how many iPad tablets there are officially in Romania, only Apple can provide information in this regard and I think that an estimate made by a rival company of Apple does not have that much credibility.

Thus, approximately 16.000 iPads were sold on the local market this year, worth almost 11 million euros. In total, in Romania there are approximately 36.000-40.000 iPads purchased in the last two years and a total of 50.000-60.000 PC tablets.
