Pod2G explains why the untethered jailbreak solution for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S is not yet available

Because everyone is asking why the untethered jailbreak solution for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is not yet available, Pod2G decided to clarify things. On his blog he explains that the current untethered jailbreak solution for these terminals requires the use of a developer account to implement the jailbreak. Because not all users have a developer account, the solution cannot be released publicly and this is the reason why the Dev Team has not released its solution until now.

The exploit I used to inject the untethering files to the 4S relies on having a developer account, and can't be released publicly. It's the same reason why @MuscleNerd has an iPad 2 tethered jailbreak but couldn't distribute it. So, we need to find a distributable exploit to remount the system partition read/write and to set Corona files at the correct places.

Of course, Pod2G is still working on methods to "overcome" this obstacle and next week it could launch the solution for users. Continuing the explanation offered on his blog, Pod2G claims that the untethered jailbreak solution for old iDevices was developed more easily because there is a bootrom exploit for them. In conclusion, the solution exists, but for now only an iOS application developer could use it.
