Apple and the problem of exploitation of Chinese employees

These days there is a lot of fuss around the topic of the workers in the Foxconn factories in China. The whole planet knows that Foxconn treats its employees like "animals" and the CEO of the company even named them so you all know how important the labor force is for the Chinese company. Apple was dragged into this scandal due to the fact that most of its iDevices are produced at Foxconn and the working conditions are deplorable. Apple has been accused of supporting everything that happens at Foxconn and of sitting idly by without taking measures to protect the Chinese who work almost like slaves for $300 a month and this is 100% true.

It is true that in China the workers are treated like slaves, but most of the big factories treat their employees in the same way and not all those factories are contracted by Apple. The big companies producing electronic products work with partners from China who treat their people in exactly the same way, but Apple seems to be the "bad apple" in this whole scandal because the company has the most popular devices on the market. What Apple is doing is not new, other companies have been doing exactly the same thing for decades but no one cares because the production cost is low and China is a closed state where employee rights do not matter at all. The blame that Apple bears is also borne by the Chinese state and Foxconn and the other large companies developing electronic products, as well as consumers.

Those who blame Apple but have a product made in China at home should think about the fact that they support everything that happens there. You as a consumer buy the product manufactured in difficult conditions in China, Apple understands that its products sell well and maintains the contracts with Foxconn which produces a lot of money and continues to treat its employees badly. We are talking about a circle in which everyone is guilty, from the consumer to the Chinese state, which instead of taking harsh measures prefers to enjoy the money invested by other countries. Yes, everything Apple and the rest of the big companies do is wrong, but if they had no one to sell their products to because of the irregularities there, they would think twice before signing a contract with Foxconn or other manufacturers. Nothing will change as long as everyone makes a lot of money from employees and consumers.

In conclusion, Apple has only a part of problems and we are part of it.
