The number of iDevice-urls sold in 2011 exceeds the number of Macs sold in 30 years

2011 was the best year in Apple's history as no less than 156 million iDevices were sold globally. The figure is enormous and proves how popular iPhones/iPods and Apple tablets are among users around the world. In three decades since the launch of the first Mac, Apple managed to sell 122 million units, 34 million units less than the number of iDevices sold in 2011.

The difference is normal considering that Macs are more expensive than iDevices, but what Apple has achieved in just 6 years with iDevices is truly surprising. In almost 5 years after the launch of the first iPhone, Apple sold 316 million iDevices and half of them were sold in 2011 alone.
