The iPad comes with 1GB of RAM according to unofficial Apple sources

The New iPad

Until now, Apple has specified every time at least the speed of the processor of a new iPad tablet, but last night the A5X processor was launched by the company and unfortunately no details were made regarding the amount of RAM available or at least the frequency that the processor will have. The A5X probably has a working speed of 1 GHz, but the important part is that it would come with 1 GB of RAM, double what the iPad 2 has. The new chip has a quad-core graphics processor and probably the extra amount of RAM was needed to ensures users a fluency in running applications and games.

There were a lot of hardware specs bandied about at this morning's iPad event: an A5X processor with quad-core graphics, a 2048 x 1536 Retina Display, and LTE. One piece of information that wasn't mentioned, however, was RAM. Sources have informed us that Apple's latest has indeed received an upgrade in that area as well, and will ship with 1GB of RAM — double that of its predecessor.

Unfortunately, we have to continue to rely on it on rumours regarding the amount of RAM included in the new iPad tablet, but on March 16 it will be available in stores, the people from iFixIt will open it and tell us exactly what is hidden inside its motherboard.
