Facebook gives users the option to announce if they are organ donors, Steve Jobs is one of the people who inspired the function (Video)

Today the company Facebook announced launching a new option for its users, an option that gives them the opportunity to publicly announce whether they are organ donors or not. For now, only those from the USA and Great Britain can attach such a tag to their own profile and function had as its source for inspiration, the Facebook CEO's girlfriend, but also the late Apple CEO, Steve Jobs. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, hopes that with this new option he will convince as many people as possible to become organ donors and considering that we are talking about the largest social network in the world, his goal will definitely be achieved.

With the addition of "organ donor" to the Life Events section of the timeline, you can state your intention to become an organ donor, and share your story about when, where or why you decided to become a donor. If you are not officially registered as an organ donor, sign up with the appropriate registry.

That definitely, I think, was something that we all had in mind as we were building this out... His story is just one of many, of people who both were able to have an organ transplant that made his life longer and he was extremely thankful for that.

For now in Romania you cannot specify whether or not you are an organ donor, but Facebook intends to bring the option to as many countries as possible in the near future. Of course, this option will not cause any doctor to harvest your organs, so you have to make a legal document specifying that you want to do this, but I think that many people will be determined to go this way and he is a good one because many lives can be saved from a tragedy.
