Along with the iPhone 5, Apple launched a new set of headphones called EarPods, which theoretically should offer iDevice owners improved quality when it comes to listening to multimedia content. Apple headphones are unfortunately impossible to repair and once you have opened them you can no longer assemble them, they have a diaphragm that is made of paper and has the shape of a cone, there is a voice coil, a permanent magnet and " the case" in which they are enclosed.
The cables have been slightly modified to be more durable, and Apple has removed the external grille present in the old headphones to reduce the impact of the headphones being damaged by contact with water. The headphones aren't great, they offer slightly better sound quality than the headphones previously offered by Apple, but you shouldn't expect too much from them.
