myLED – an LED accessory that flashes when you have unread notifications on your iDevice (Video)

One of the most useful functions of many Android/Symbian/Blackberry terminals, etc., is the option to be notified by a light when you have an unread notification on your own terminal. Many would have liked the iPhone to have something similar, Apple did not implement the functionality, but an accessory called MyLED change everything. If you look at the video clip above, you will notice that myLED is an LED that is inserted into the audio port of our iDevices and flashes when we have unread notifications for: missed calls, received SMS/MMS/iMessages, missed FaceTime/Skype calls, received emails or notifications of on Facebook/Twitter.

myLED is an external notification light for iPhones and iPads that flashes to alert you of notifications such as missed calls, emails and social network updates. It allows you to keep informed of activity on your phone without having to switch on the screen. myLED is packed with a ton of functionality and fits seamlessly into iOS devices. It sits inside the headphone jack to ensure full visibility from every direction, and when there is an interaction such as an email or missed call, myLED starts flashing to let you know.

myLED works with the help of an application in which you can choose the notifications for which you want to receive alerts, but also the way in which the accessory alerts you. For each type of alert it flashes differently, so theoretically you should distinguish between the various unread notifications on your iDevices. Although myLED is currently only a kickstarter project, I think it will be funded quite quickly, as many people are interested in having such an accessory for their own terminal.
