Any new product must be tested both by the employees of the company that developed it, and by the employees of the company that assembles it, so each manufacturer designs a simple software that tests the basic functions of that product. In the video clip above we have a presentation of the MMI software through which those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), tests the tablet prototypes iPad. Practically, the software offers quick access to the basic functions: camera, audio, gyroscope, accelerometer, etc., testing each of them asking users to specify whether everything worked according to the specifications or not.
The same software is used in the case of iPhones, it is installed in the devices directly taken out of production, and in general tests of this kind are done automatically.
