HTC One Max is the first producer of terminals Android which launches a smartphone with a fingerprint reader in response to iPhone 5Sof those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, but they chose to make a strange implementation for this system. Instead of implementing the reader in an easily accessible and visible area, those from HTC they introduced the fingerprint reader directly under the terminal's main camera, so users have to touch the 6-inch screen casing to discover the location of the fingerprint reader.

In contrast to the touch ID, the fingerprint reader from HTC One Max it requires a swipe to unlock the terminal and not a press, HTC avoiding to offer an explanation for this difference. The interesting part is that users can use this fingerprint reader to open applications, but only from the lockscreen. All in all, using a fingerprint reader implemented in this way is strange, but at least HTC proves that it knows how to do things differently.
