Apple splits its shares on the American stock exchange, reduces their price and market capitalization

Last week we told you that Apple will split its shares in a ratio of 7 to 1 on the American stock exchange, the company from Cupertino submitting the documentation to the authorities on Friday to make the change. In its base, Apple will increase the number of available shares from 1.8 billion to over 12 billion, but only a part of them will be available for purchase, more precisely those that have not already been bought, their number increasing to the same extent.

For the change seen on Friday, today we see the first results, more precisely the price of the shares of the Apple company fell to the value of $92.22, the stock market capitalization falling to $79.44 billion. On Friday, an Apple share was worth $645.57, the stock market capitalization being $556.08 billion, so we are only talking about a division by 7.

This move by Apple will generate more interest in its shares, as the company is now offering more investors the opportunity to buy shares, which in turn will generate new income for it.
