Google Releases Motion Stills for iPhone (Video)

Motion Stills is a new application launched by the Google company for owners of iPhone terminals, it being thought in the idea of allowing us to create animated GIF images or movies from Live Photos recorded in iOS.

Google engineers also use an optical stabilization system to create GIFs or video clips of much better quality than the original ones, the Motion Stills application also allows the creation of video collages using multiple Live Photos.

Those from Google claim that in the application Motion Stills they use a proprietary technology to stabilize video clips and to create GIFs from photo bursts, so theoretically we should have an extremely interesting experience using the application.

We pioneered this technology by stabilizing hundreds of millions of videos and creating GIF animations from photo bursts. Our algorithm uses linear programming to compute a virtual camera path that is optimized to recast videos and bursts as if they were filmed using stabilization equipment, yielding a still background or creating cinematic pans to remove shakiness. Short videos are perfect for creating loops, so we added loop optimization to bring out the best in your captures. Our approach identifies optimal start and end points, and also discards blurry frames. As an added benefit, this fixes "pocket shots" (footage of the phone being put back into the pocket).

application Motion Stills is available for free download from the App Store following this link.
