Recently I took the risk of gutting my Space Gray iPhone 6 Plus and transferring it to a gold body. At first I was trying to think of a way to get the touch ID to have a gold ring, but after a few days I realized it looks much better without! Many people buy the black iPhone for the black screen because when it's off, it's a clean black surface. I'm not saying a gold ring wouldn't look cool but it'd distract from the sleek black surface. I've been very happy with the results over the past few days and I really wanted to share with other people that might also appreciate it and maybe try it out themselves! Cheers!
