5 good but less known iOS photo editing apps

I don't think there is an iDevice user who doesn't have at least one photo editing application on their phone or tablet. This (and) because the native application has limited filters, therefore we use other photo editing applications and programs that can offer us much more editing possibilities. Some of them you know very well: VSCO Cam, Camera Plus, Adobe, etc. .

However, there are other applications that are very good but are less known. Here are 5 of them:

Snapseed

It is an application that allows the user to control every detail of the image, with a precision that other applications would not offer. It also provides us with a series of great filters, which can be applied gradually, until you get what you want.

Snapseed works on layers, which allows selective adjustments implicitly returning to the changes at any point of the editing.

Specifications:

  • Exposure, color and sharpening adjustments
  • Crop, rotate, straighten, correct perspectives
  • Selective adjustments, brushes, healing tool
  • Vignette, filters, HDR, black and white
  • Frames and text

The application can be downloaded FREE OF CHARGE.

Filterstorm New

In addition to all the typical photo editing tools for adjusting color, exposure, etc. the Filterstorm Neue application includes one of the best mobile implementations of a "Curve control" function for fine adjustment of brightness and contrast.

Also, another feature is that Filterstorm Neue allows you to selectively apply adjustments through a series of tools.

  • Masking tools for selective editing
  • Advanced tools such as curves, levels, tone map and channel mixer
  • Clone tool for removing and replacing objects
  • Clarity, sharpening, noise reduction, watermarking
  • Adjustable preset filters

If you're looking to go beyond basic iPhone image editing, Filterstorm Neue is one of the best choices.

Enlight

The application has a vast collection of basic and advanced editing tools, as well as a selection of several "whimsical" and artistic effects to achieve truly creative images.

With so many features, this app may take a while to fully understand, but each tool is very intuitive in how it works. In addition, Enlight has one of the best built-in "Help" features of any application.

  • Selective control over exposure, color and details
  • Built-in masking within every tool for seamless blending of effects
  • Crop, rotate, straighten, correct perspectives
  • Filters, gradients, light leaks, vignettes
  • Black and white, painterly and sketch effects
  • Clone tool for removing unwanted defects
  • Double-exposure, tilt-shift, photo montages
  • Drawing tools, text, borders and frames

Mextures

Not only does this application offer a wide range of textures and functions, but each of them is fully adjustable and you can combine as many as you want through an easy-to-use "layering" feature.

The "creative" options available in Mextures really are limitless, and that's why it's one of the best photo editing apps to help you create your own unique editing style.

  • Grit, grain, grunge and vintage film textures
  • Analog light leaks and beautiful gradients
  • Stack and blend effects using layers
  • Fine tune images with adjustment tools and presets
  • Save, share and import "formulas"

TouchRetouch

Many applications now offer the possibility to remove unwanted elements from a photo, but TouchRetouch is dedicated exclusively to this purpose and has one of the simplest and most effective ways to use it.

With the help of your finger, you can quickly and easily highlight the objects (or parts of objects) that you want to remove. When the object is highlighted in red, simply press "Start", and the application automatically removes the selection, replacing the area with pixels from the surrounding area.

Removing the more complicated elements may take a few tries to get something perfect.

Young ladies can also use the application for photos, because it removes redness, spots and simply "gets rid" of wrinkles.

  • Use the brush or lasso to select the object you want to remove
  • Let the app automatically replace your selection with surrounding pixels
  • Perfect for removing dust spots and wires from sky or other backgrounds
  • Remove people and other objects to create a cleaner composition
  • Eliminate sun spots and flares
  • Retouch portraits by removing blemishes and smoothing out wrinkles
