WhatsApp has activated 2-step verification on iPhone

WhatsApp launched last night its new 2-step verification system to provide improved security for iPhone users around the world. With the help of this 2-step verification system, we will be able to additionally secure our WhatsApp account by setting a security code that must be entered when we log in from a new device.

The measure implemented by WhatsApp will prevent identity theft and cloning of a SIM card so that other people can log into WhatsApp with our phone number. After activating the 2-step verification system, you will only have to remember the security code to be sure that you will not be left out of WhatsApp when you change terminals.

Activating the 2-step verification system for WhatsApp can currently be done through the settings menu of our account. There you will find an activation button, after which you will be asked to enter a 6-digit security code and an email address used later by WhatsApp to reset the security code if necessary.

After setting this security code for the 2-step verification, you will have to be careful not to forget it, or not to lose access to the email address used for the reset. Those at WhatsApp do not check the address you use for the eventual need to reset the account, so you must be careful to set a valid email address in order not to lose your WhatsApp account.

"Two-step verification is an optional feature that adds an extra layer of security to your account. When two-step verification is enabled, any attempt to register your phone number in WhatsApp must be accompanied by the six-digit code that you have created using this function."

I recommend you to use the 2-step verification system for WhatsApp because you will benefit from high security for your account and it would be good to activate it right now.
