This spray transforms any surface into a tactile one

Technology evolves at a fast pace, and the newest innovation in this field is a special spray that can transform any surface into a tactile one. Electrick is the name of this new technology developed by those from Carnegie Mellon University, it allows the transformation of any surface into one capable of conducting electricity.

The technology is based on the principle of tomography of electric fields, this requiring the application of some electrodes for the process to be complete. Between 8 and 16 electrodes are needed to transform any surface into a tactile one, but without the special spray nothing will work.

The electrodes that facilitate the transmission of the electric current must be applied using this spray, even in several layers, and when a finger touches the surface, the action is recorded. Basically, Electrick tries to reproduce the way a touch screen works on any surface, and the idea has enough chances to be transformed into a commercial product in the future.
