iPhone X. A serious problem was discovered in Apple's iOS 12 operating system, and unfortunately a hacker demonstrated it during an IT security conference. The serious problem of iPhone X in iOS 12 allows hackers to recover any kind of pictures, or other files, already deleted by users, something that is normally possible anyway, but only for the owner of the phone.

iPhone X. The procedure for extracting these already deleted files is possible through a vulnerability discovered in Safari, but only when the user is connected to a broken Wi-Fi network. At that point, hackers can exploit existing vulnerabilities in iOS 12, including iOS 12.1, to steal photos and files that have been deleted, all without the user knowing.

iPhone X. The pictures extracted by hackers are the ones that remain available in the section of pictures deleted by users, that is, those that can be recovered for 30 days. Theoretically, a hacker should not have access to them, but it seems that their theft is possible on the iPhone X and Safari, and the Apple company left this vulnerability unresolved, probably because it did not know about it.

Richard Zhu and Amat Cama discovered the issue at a contest for hackers to find iOS and Android bugs, and revealed it in a demo this week. They connected to the device (which was running iOS 12.1) through a malicious Wi-Fi access point and exploited a vulnerability in a just-in-time (JIT) compiler, which helps iPhones run faster by processing code while a program is running, rather than in advance.

iPhone X. The hackers won no less than 50.000 dollars thanks to the vulnerability they discovered, and the Apple company was notified about its existence. Considering that this problem still exists in iOS 12.1, it remains to be seen when it will be solved by those from Cupertino, but theoretically it shouldn't take too long, right?
