Coronavirus: DSU Asks Romanians to Respect Quarantine in Localities

Coronavirus due to request for compliance with quarantine

The coronavirus is still a very big problem for Romania, and the DSU asks the Romanians to respect the quarantine measures because they work, and can help to substantially reduce the number of new cases of the coronavirus.

"Compliance with the local and regional measures ordered by the authorities where necessary in order to limit the spread of the new type of Coronavirus and which involve wearing a protective mask, frequent hand hygiene, social distancing remain essential!

Taking into account the epidemiological situation in several counties at national level and for which, based on Law 136 / July 18, 2020, in several municipalities, towns, cities, communes, villages, zonal quarantine was established for a period of 14 days or its extension as appropriate, we reiterate the fact that the evolution of the cumulative incidence in the targeted areas, in the last 14 days per 1000 inhabitants, has decreased, a fact that underlines the importance of timely adoption of additional measures to protect communities in areas where the epidemiological risk was significant.

From the data centralized at the CNCCI level that indicate the situation/evolution of the areas under territorial quarantine, we want to highlight on the one hand the effectiveness of the imposition of this measure taken by the authorities directly involved in managing the existing difficult sanitary situation and at the same time the importance of observing all measures in the quarantined areas by all the citizens, who are our partners in this fight against the new Coronavirus.

The efficiency of the degree of reduction of the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus in the areas located or outside the territorial quarantine was achieved in several
counties at national level. This is mainly due to the citizens in the affected areas, who by observing all the general protection measures, the incidence
accumulated in the last 14 days per thousand inhabitants decreased by more than 50% of the initial value.

Given these examples, we want to address a call to all citizens who are our partners in this health crisis, namely, to respect the protective measures, show increased attention to hygiene and avoid crowded areas, especially in the context of the approach of the winter holidays. We reiterate the same message both to the people in the quarantined areas and to those who are in areas that have come out of the territorial quarantine, with the common goal of limiting the spread of the new Coronavirus.

At the same time, in support of the principle of transparency and optimal information of the general public, the data on the measures ordered by the authorities to support citizens, including those that involve the quarantine of some localities in the country, are permanently updated on the MAI, DSU and IGSU websites."
