New doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, Vaxzevria, have arrived in Romania, the authorities announcing that 208.800 units have been delivered to be used to immunize the population, although they will most likely be resold, or donated, in a few weeks.

"208.800 doses of Vaxzevria vaccine will arrive tomorrow, June 22, at the National Institute for Medical and Military Research and Development "Cantacuzino". Transport is provided by the producing company, and the vaccine doses will be brought to Bucharest by land.

The doses will be stored at the National Storage Center, and in the following period they will be distributed in the existing regional centers at the national level. The National Center for the Storage of Vaccines against COVID-19 within the "Cantacuzino" Institute is fully authorized and approved by the National Medicines and Medical Devices Authority of Romania (ANMDMR), the national authority that has competence in the field of medicine for human use.

To date, our country has received 3.165.200 doses of vaccine produced by the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, and as of February 15, 835.780 have already been used to immunize the population."
