ANPC established the special command for BLACK FRIDAY in Romania, the authorities in our country trying to find out if online stores keep their promise to offer Romanians only the best discounts during this period.
"On the initiative of the President of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), Claudiu Dolot, the Special Black Friday Command was established, which aims to permanently supervise the offers with promotions, from this period, regardless of the field of activity.
The command, whose operational strategy was established following a video conference with all chief commissioners and deputy chief commissioners in the country, is coordinated by Paul Anghel, Director General of ANPC.
"I decided to establish this command after seeing the results of the controls of the past few days, on those who "stole the start" of the discount campaign!
As we have said every time, we show ZERO TOLERANCE towards any deviation from the legislation in the field. Part of the "Consumer Protection is not negotiable!" campaign, we want this command to prevent the transformation of Black Friday into April Fools' Day", declared Claudiu Dolot.
We remind consumers that sales with a reduced price, regardless of their type (clearance, liquidation, promotional sales) must comply with a number of rules for fixing and advertising prices.
Thus, any trader who announces a price reduction must relate it to the reference price applied in the same sales space for identical products.
The reduced price must be lower than the reference price!
The reference price represents the lowest price practiced in the same sales space during the last 30 days, before the date of application of the reduced price.
In this context, ANPC has made available to consumers from all over the country a dedicated e-mail address, bf@anpc.ro, to which it invites all citizens who notice any irregularity related to the promotions of this period to write, send photos or any document that I think can be useful in our endeavor, in their service."
