The Minister of Health has issued a very serious last-minute warning for millions of Romanians throughout the country, the reason for which this information is necessary is related to the distribution of potassium iodide pills manufactured by Antibiotice Iasi, but only after proper information.
The Minister of Health warns Romanians from all over the country not to take potassium iodide pills only on the basis of the recommendations of the authorities, and only after analyzing the informative materials that the authorities will start to make available in the next period, to help us we do not harm ourselves.
"We have repeatedly said that we are not under the threat of a nuclear incident, but obviously this cannot be excluded even in a situation of peace, and even less in a situation of conflict in the immediate vicinity of Romania, and we are not referring to nuclear weapons, but to the possibility of a situation related to the operation of some nuclear power plants.
So even in a peaceful situation, such a situation can appear, with a very low probability, that's what I said, they are possible, but they are not probable. But we learned one thing during the pandemic, that we must have a preventive and responsible behavior.
What we did in preparing the response in the situation of wave 5, when we greatly expanded the testing capacity, we expanded the diagnostic capacity, all the things that led to a preventive behavior, both of the population and of the medical system, I think should be considered and in other areas.

We specify that this is a strictly preventive measure, and that there is no imminent danger. The pills are not administered after they are received, the treatment is administered in the first 6 hours after the authorities' announcement, but in a single dose.
