Minister of Energy: Last Hour, Important Announcement Regarding Gas Prices

The Minister of Energy sent an extremely important announcement regarding natural gas prices in Romania, and this is because we are talking about a decision based on which the authorities in our country assure Romanians that gas prices will not increase in the winter.

The Minister of Energy says that including this winter, the gas price will still be 31 banis per cubic meter, regardless of how much money will be consumed by Romanians, this being the big difference compared to last year's winter, so theoretically it would not prices should increase, especially for those who consume more than 300 kW in a month.

"Let's see how the Romanian market will react when this gas from the Black Sea also enters (ed. asked if gas will be cheaper in Romania), I don't expect miracles this winter, we have a war on the border, we are in a complicated regional situation, but we will have gas, our task is to ensure it.

I repeat, this winter there is no problem with prices being higher than 31 money, this time regardless of how much we consume. If you remember, until April 1 there was a consumption limit of 300 cubic meters, but now we are no longer talking about this imposed limit.

We do not have this problem (n. ed. regarding the payment of Russian gas in rubles) because we do not have a direct contract. No company in Romania has a direct contract with Gazprom, but with some intermediary companies, companies that have residence in the European Union, that have branches in Romania, and payments are made in Romania.

No, it was about a transit to the central part of Europe (ed. to the question regarding the closure of a delivery corridor through Ukraine), it was not about the transit through Romania, otherwise if I'm not mistaken, from April 1 the transit through Ukraine to Romania is no longer important from Ukraine, imports were redirected through the south of Romania, through Negru Voda Cardan.

As a whole, the total revenues that the Romanian state will have from the exploitation of gas from the Black Sea is 60%, percentage of total revenues, and 40% will be assessed by the investor. The percentage is applied to total income minus the recovered investment, so what remains after the investment is recovered."
