Romania has the highest economic growth in the European Union, according to Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca, and below are the arguments that were the basis of this statement that should be in the attention of all Romanians.
"I took over the responsibility of the government six months ago, when the Covid-19 pandemic was still putting Romania and the whole world to the test.
Today, after half a year of government, we have the highest economic growth in the European Union and tens of billions of euros available for the development of Romania. We have a safe country with the strongest security guarantees offered by our membership of NATO and the EU, which prove all the more important since the Russian military invasion on our border has generated a devastating war.
The spirit of solidarity mobilized us to offer protection to over a million Ukrainian refugees who crossed our border, but also to successfully overcome the pandemic, the energy crisis and the war in the neighborhood.
The massive aid that we granted and we support as the main line of government effort was directed to the Romanians who needed the most help, those from the vulnerable categories, affected by the price increases, but also to supporting the economy.
We applied compensation and capping measures as soon as energy and natural gas prices started to rise to provide stability and support to citizens and the economy until March 31, 2023.
"Support for Romania" is the mechanism that we thought up, at the level of the Coalition, to provide the Government with the tools to deal with the new effects of the crisis generated against the background of the war in the region.
The Romanian economy and millions of Romanians in the area of vulnerable categories benefit from a good part of the 17,3 billion lei from this package.
This week, a third package of measures was decided at the level of the Coalition.
As we promised, the citizen is at the center of our Government Program, and in order to maintain the safety and development of this country, we provide the largest investment funds that Romania has had so far. The 96 billion euros – European money from the operational programs and from the PNRR represent the essential resource for development.
All these measures, doubled by a responsible approach to governance, allowed Romania to perform at the European level, in a period of multiple crises
The political stability generated by the governing coalition will continue to generate for Romania the strongest form of guaranteeing the achievement of the objectives that the citizens have, based on safety and development."
