The Minister of Health is officially speaking about the very important measures that were thought to be implemented in Romania by the authorities, and we are talking about decisions that will have a national impact in schools throughout the country, because the measures to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus that have been applied in the spring, it is still applied.
The Minister of Health says that since those measures were successful, they will not be changed now, so the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic will continue at the same pace as it started in the spring of this year, which of course will generate a lot of discussion, but it was expected that things would go like this.
Alexandru Rafila also talks about what he considers to be one of the successful plans in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic so far, and this is because the decision was made to put more emphasis on outpatient services to relieve hospitals of patients who must be diagnosed due to the Coronavirus.
"There are some simple things that we all have at hand, including by protecting our children as best as possible, because this is, I think, important. These measures are universal, they prevent not only infection with the new Coronavirus, they also prevent the flu. Let's not forget that it is possible to have a more serious flu season this year, after a break of 2/3 years.
We will not change in any way the approach that has managed to keep schools open. Notice the fact that in 2022, practically, despite the pandemic waves, the 5th and 6th waves were this year, the schools were not closed, because the approach was not related to the number of cases, but to the incidence in a certain locality, but the situation in the medical system.
The ability to receive infected people. In parallel, we developed outpatient services in order to reduce the pressure on hospitals, and in this way we also reduced the number of infected people. Maybe there were measures taken under the empire, please, unrest generated by the pandemic, but now we have experience, it's good to continue with this model of good tactics."
