La scurt timp dupa lansarea tabletei iPad Microsoft a promis utilizatorilor de iDevice-uri ca in viitor ar putea incerca sa porteze componente ale suite Office pe platforma iOS. Din pacate Microsoft a revenit dupa cateva luni cu clarificari spunand ca nu intentioneaza sa dezvolte acest gen de aplicatii pentru iDevice-uri in viitorul apropiat. A trecut aproape un an de atunci si iata ca echipa care se ocupa de dezvoltarea suite Office a facut OneNote, o versiune pentru iOS a programului destinat calculatoarelor. Aplicatia permite utilizatorilor sa sincronizeze aplicatia pentru iOS cu OneNote de pe calculatorul propriu si sa modifice intrarile existente direct de pe terminal.
Sincronizarea intre aplicatia pentru iOS si versiunea pentru calculator se face folosind serverele Microsoft, totul fiind oferit gratuit de compania din Redmond. Iata cateva funciti ale aplicatiei OneNote :
