Imediat dupa WWDC 2012 cei de la New York Times au aflat ca Apple intentioneaza sa lanseze un nou model al iMac in cursul anului viitor, iar acum aflam ca partenerii celor din Cupertino se pregatesc sa inceapa productia pentru un nou model al acestui produs. In luna iulie ar urma sa inceapa productia acestui nou iMac, iar lansarea ar urma sa aiba loc in luna octombrie a acestui an, dar iMac 2012 nu ar urma sa vina cu un design modificat. Practic iMac-ul ar urma sa aiba doar hardware mai bun si Retina Display, insa design-ul ar urma sa ramana nemodificat, cel putin pana anul viitor.
Apple’s supply chain reportedly will start supplying components for the mass production of Apple’s upcoming new iMac all-in-one PC in July with the device’s official launch possibly around October, according to sources from upstream supply chain. The sources also noted that Apple plans to expand Retina Display into all the product lines, meaning that the new iMac will have a high chance of featuring Retina Display; however, the rumors are not confirmed by Apple. The sources pointed out that Apple is pushing Retina Display for its products in hoping to surpass its competitors in terms of screen resolution since most other notebook and tablet PC vendors are still adopting Full HD display for their products.
Desi implementarea Retina Display-ului in iMac ar putea genera o crestere in costul final al produsului, cei de la Apple par a fi increzatori in propriul produs. MacBook Pro Retina Display are un pret de pornire cu 400$ mai mare decat cel mai ieftin MacBook Pro din aceeasi categorie, iar in cazul iMac-ului cu Retina Display lucrurile ar putea fi asemanatoare, dar ramane de vazut ce va decide compania Apple. Trebuie avut in vedere faptul ca vorbim deocamdata doar despre un zvon care ar putea fi extrem de inexact.
