The Apple-Verizon war continues

Verizon-Apple-01 Many of you probably don't know, but Verizon and AT&T, the largest mobile phone operator in the US and the operator that has the exclusive right to sell the iPhone in the US, have been at odds for some time. The main reason was Motorola Droid, the source that gave birth to the advertisements that brought the 2 companies to the situation of suing. Everything started with Android OS vs. iPhone OS, then continued with mutual anti-advertising regarding the national 3G coverage of the 2 operators, this last aspect bringing the 2 companies before the courts.

Until now, Apple has watched the battle from the sidelines, but now the Cupertino giant has decided to join AT&T by introducing 2 new acidic ads directed against Verizon. Apple's position seems somewhat strange considering that until now at least Verizon was announced as the next operator to sell the iPhone in the US, but it seems that at least until June 2010 AT&T will still have exclusivity.
