Nokia N900 – multitasking gadget

nokia-n900 We all know the controversies related to multitasking on the iPhone and Apple's policy of refusing to introduce multitasking in the iPhone OS, citing possible system crashes or the battery that clearly would not cope with excessive use. Well, the new N900, Nokia's flagship, does absolutely no problem when it comes to multitasking, what is the iPhone inferior to? They have practically the same hardware, batteries of similar capacities (as far as I know, the iPhone has a 1400 mAh battery and the N900 has 1320), helloooo!! Apple?! Are you sleeping? No one sleeps, I'm sure of that, but why throw all the goodies out of a fire when they can do it little by little so they can say they've released an update or a new firmware.

Leaving Apple's politics aside, the N900 does very well at multitasking, considering that it is native to the Maemo 5 system, even with more than 10 applications open, the phone responds even better than a 2G with 3.x firmware. I was a Nokia fan, but disappointed by the "nothing" they released in recent years, I joined the Apple camp, but I have to admit that this N900 is really a gem of a phone. And what makes this phone so surprising is the Maemo operating system which is a VERY BIG step forward for Nokia from the already ancient and much too heavy Symbian. I hope that Apple wakes up to reality and introduces some applications in the firmware that 99% of phones have from the factory.
