Tutorial: iPhodroid automatically installs Android on iPhone 2G

Yesterday the files for installing Android OS on the iPhone 3G were made available, but with them a new set of files for the iPhone 2G that simplifies the installation of Android on the iPhone. An installer was released today, named iPhodroid, which will give you the ability to install Android on iPhone 2G simple and easy without having to go through all the steps in the tutorials presented on the net.

iPhodroid is compatible DONATE cu Mac OSX and to install AndroidOS pe iPhone 2G you need :

  • a jailbroken iPhone 2G with firmware 3.1.2;
  • OpenSSH installed (from Cydia) and the phone's root password should be "alpine" (if you haven't changed the password then it's alpine);
  • The jailbreak must have been done with blackra1n/redsn0w/pwnagetool, if you have jailbroken with Spirit then this tutorial will not work!
  • MacFuse installed on Mac.

Before starting the process, it is important to disable the auto lock in Settings>General>Auto Lock>Never. After you've done that, download it iPhodroid from here, it's over 40MB.

After you have extracted the files from the archive you can start the process, the entire installation should not exceed 7 minutes, and each step should be completed in a maximum of 2 minutes. If you notice that everything takes longer, it means that something didn't go well and you have to start over.

That's all, be VERY CAREFUL with the installation and everything should go smoothly. This tutorial does NOT work on other terminals, it is intended exclusively for iPhone 2G.
