Sn0wbreeze 2.0 will jailbreak iPhone 3G/3GS on iOS 4.0.2

sn0wbreeze 2.0 is to be released by iH8sn0w in the near future and will allow iPhone 3G/3GS and iPod Touch 2G/3G users to jailbreak iOS 3.x and 4.x using a custom firmware. Before you get too excited, I inform you that the situation of those with a new bootrom still remains a problem, so iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 2G(MC)/3G owners will be able to jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 and 4.1 only if they have SHSH for iOS 3.1.2 because you have to restore from that version of iOS. iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS owners with a new bootrom will be able to restore from iOS 4.0/4.0.1 jailbroken to 4.0.2/4.1 beta jailbroken.

If you are now on 4.x jailbroken then you have no reason to restore to 4.0.2 because the only novelty of this firmware is the "covering" of the vulnerability used by jailbreakme.com. sn0wbreeze is not yet compatible with iPhone 4, but it is likely that iH8sn0w will include compatibility in future versions of the program, after a new bootrom exploit is released.
