Cydia has a big big problem, namely the weight with which it loads news or makes changes after you've installed an application. To solve this problem, there is NoCyfresh, but once installed, that tweak no longer allows Cydia to update the sources automatically, so you will have to do it manually. If you don't want to install NoCyfresh, but you want Cydia to update its news faster, then you can make the following change: open Cydia, go to "Categories", press "Edit" and deselect from there what doesn't interest you. After this modification, Cydia will load only the applications/patches from the categories selected by you, so the update process will take less time.
