iOS 4.2 will bring quite a lot of changes regarding the APIs needed for the applications to work, this is one of the reasons why the Dev Team warned us not to try to jailbreak iOS 4.2 because Cydia plus many applications in it do not they will work. Well, now this problem has been solved because chpwn managed to optimize the Cydia application and made it 100% compatible with iOS 4.2, and even slightly modified it by introducing some new options. Unfortunately, no one wants to say what these new options are, so we will only find out when the new jailbreak solution is released.
Even though Cydia has been optimized for iOS 4.2, I recommend you not to jailbreak yet because the existing programs have the old version of Cydia. My advice is to wait until the Dev Team releases new jailbreak solutions.
