Steve Jobs called a developer to explain why his application was not accepted in the AppStore

It is well known that Steve Jobs takes the time to read and respond to some of the hundreds/thousands of emails he receives daily, but it seems that sometimes he gets more seriously involved in his relationship with the owners of Apple products and a good example in this sense, it is a phone recently given to a developer whose application was not accepted in the AppStore. Ram Arumugam developed the app Economy for iPad and sent for approval in the AppStore, but the application was rejected because it used an unauthorized API and this is in contradiction with the rules imposed by Apple. Upset that the application was not accepted, the developer sent an e-mail to Apple and to his surprise he was called by Steve Jobs and after a short discussion with him he removed that API and resubmitted the application for approval.

A couple of hours after I sent the email, I was at a noisy soccer (for kids) arena when I heard my iPhone ring. The caller-id, the caller saying "Ram, this is Steve" and that he was calling from Apple did suggest that it could really be Steve Jobs. He confirmed it when I asked.

The application was accepted and is now the most purchased application in the finance category in the iPad AppStore. To be honest, I see this gesture more as a PR move than anything else, anyway it's good to know that some problems reach the people with decision-making power and sometimes they get personally involved in solving some problems.
