iControlBits – a Bittorrent application for iDevices

Apple has very strict rules when it comes to accepting applications in the AppStore, but from time to time there is an employee who approve applications that should never have gotten there. It happened many times in the past and again last night when an application appeared in the AppStore that allowed users to manage a bittorrent application for Mac directly from their own iDevice. iControlBits gives us the possibility to connect to the Bittorrent client from our Mac and check the status of downloads, stop or suspend them, or close the program altogether.

Other developers tried unsuccessfully to convince Apple to accept this kind of applications in the AppStore, but it seems that only now iControlBits managed to "break the iron curtain" around the virtual application store. Of course, iControlBitsva will be withdrawn as soon as the "culprit" who approved it in the AppStore is discovered, and we will not hear about it again unless we look for it on various sites with pirated applications or in Cydia.

It would be very good if this situation were repeated in the case of other, much more useful applications.
