These days at CES, quite a few tablets were presented, but very few of them run Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the version of Android OS specially made for tablets. Considering that many of the tablets with Android Honeycomb will be available in the coming months, I think it would be useful to familiarize ourselves a little with the operating system that will compete with iOS for the iPad. One of the former creative directors who contributed to the development of WebOS worked on this operating system and to be honest the result is far beyond my expectations. I would not have thought that Google could make such a changed interface for tablets, but the developers managed to create a new skin for Android OS.

Of course, Google has "borrowed" some elements from Apple as well, here I mean of course the dock, the interface for Google Talk and some minor aesthetic elements. Tablet use for tests it's a T-Mobile G Slate and as you can see everything moves very smoothly, the transitions don't have a bit of lag, basically the operating system is well optimized for the hardware. I really like the new 3D system for viewing buildings and I think it was time for Google to implement something like this in Google Maps because other navigation services had this feature for a long time.

So, what do you think of Android 3.0 Honeycomb compared to iOS 4.2.1?
