5 million The Beatles songs sold in iTunes

Do you remember day of November 16? The day that Apple promised us that we would never forget? If you forgot about it, I remind you that Apple released The Beatles discography in iTunes. Many people criticized the way Apple chose to promote this event, but in the end it seems that The Beatles' songs were quite successful in the iTunes Music Store. This emerges from an article published by The Loop which states that in the iTunes Music store they were sold over 5 million songs by The Beatles plus another 1 million albums, the most popular being Abbey Road.

Almost half of these sales were recorded in the first week after the appearance of the 13 albums from The Beatles discography in iTunes. 2 million songs and 450.000 albums were purchased then and in the following 2 months Apple only managed to double the respective sales. For us it matters less that The Beatles is in iTunes, basically we only have access to the iTunes Music Store through an iTunes Gift Card.
