iPad 2 and iPhone 5 will have a dual-core processor based on the A5 chip

This evening, Apple released iOS 4.3 for the iPad 2 tablet, which will be available in stores starting Friday, and some developers have started to "search" through iOS for information about the tablet's new processor. S5L8940 this name the new A5 dual-core chip of the iPad 2 tablet and the 3 distinct versions of the iPad 2 are named – iPad2,1 (K93AP) = WiFi, iPad2,2 (K94AP) = GSM and iPad2,3 (K95AP) = CDMA – in iOS 4.3. These are the code names that Apple employees used when discussing these products within the company.

It is interesting that in iOS 4.3 references were also discovered about the iPhone 5 which is known under the code name N94AP and which will have the same A5 chip known in iOS under the name  S5L8940. It is not surprising that the iPhone 5 will have exactly the same processor considering that last year Apple did exactly the same with the A4 chip that was first implemented in the iPad, then in the iPhone 4 and then in the iPod Touch 4G and Apple TV 2G .
