Video: How important is the amount of RAM in the iPad 2 for web browsing

A big problem posed by many iPad tablet users is related to the insufficient amount of RAM that the tablet has. Many feared that the iPad 2 would come with 256MB of RAM and work as hard as the iPad, especially when it comes to loading many pages in Safari. It turned out that the iPad 2 has 512 MB of RAM and that it loads the pages faster, but in the clip above we have PROVEN the difference in performance between the RAM in the iPad and the one in the iPad 2. Notice that almost half of the pages open in Safari on the iPad have to be reloaded if we jump from one page to another, something that does not happen on the iPad 2. The situation is even worse good on the iPad 2 when it comes to scrolling through the page because the tablet does not display those squares on the page until the content loads, as the iPad does when we jump from one page to another.

The amount of RAM in the iPad 2 seems to be sufficient to ensure good web browsing even when several websites are open at the same time. I will criticize this test because web pages from a single site are loaded instead of several sites being loaded, possibly with several graphic elements and we are not shown if there is any application open in the background or not. Anyway, the same number of pages were opened on both tablets and the iPad 2 clearly did much better.
