Time Capsule equipped with HDDs intended for desktops

Last week Apple launched 2 new versions of the Time Capsule which can now be purchased with a 2 or 3 TB hard drive. Apple promotes Time Capsule on its website as a product equipped with a hard disk specially made for servers, i.e. fast and durable hard disks. The bad part is that the Time Capsule hides a Western Digital Caviar Green SATA II hard drive that is sold as hardware intended for desktops and in no case for servers. That hard disk can be bought at the moment on Amazon.com for only $80, but the Time Capsule costs no less than $299, a rather large price difference for a product that does not comply with the specifications presented on the website.

The information was discovered by a site from France who opened the Time Capsule to see what was hidden inside and discovered with amazement that Western Digital Caviar Green. In the end, what matters is that Time Capsule does its job properly, keeps the data safe and "delivers" it to the user as quickly as possible.
