iOS 5 beta 4 brings data connection options for iPod Touch

In the morning I told you that iOS beta 5 4 was officially launched for our iDevices but a very important novelty was overlooked. It seems that in this new version of iOS, iPod Touches have options for data connections. More precisely, on the iPod we now have the option to synchronize documents from third-party applications even through a 3G or EDGE network if we are not connected to a Wi-Fi network. The option also exists on the iPhone 4, but we see it on the iPod Touch for the first time and it cannot be used for now considering that there is no iPod Touch capable of connecting to mobile networks.

This new option brings back to the fore the rumor from 2 weeks ago that announced that Apple intends to produce an iPod Touch able to connect to 3G networks. In practice, the iPod Touch would have a GSM chip in it and would have the same functionality as the iPad tablet, that is, it would be able to surf the Internet but it would not allow sending SMS or making phone calls. Considering this discovery, it will be interesting to see what exactly Apple will implement in the iPod Touch in the fall.
