Video: MySaver protects the cables of your iDevices

MySaver is a project seeking funding on KickStarter.com that was designed to help iDevice owners protect their USB cables used for charging/syncing with iTunes. If you have had an iDevice for a long time, then you surely know that these cables are not really that resistant and at the point of connection with the USB plug or with the 30-pin connector, breaks can occur. I have a similar cable around the house that works without problems for now, but I don't know how long I will be able to rely on it.

MySaver:Pro and the MySaver:DIY are simple and unique products that we have carefully designed to protect the life of those very fragile docking cables. If you're like me you know these cables eventually break or short out when you need them most, leaving your prized iPhone completely out of charge. These cables are the lifeline of not only the iPhone, but all iPads and iPods. A break in a cable could cause a pricey repair, or a day spent looking for a replacement. That happened to me, and yes it sucked. Thus out of necessity the MySaver cable protector has been designed and engineered smartly using high-grade aluminum and secure, flexible silicone in five colors for personalization, and to provide a beautiful, protective solution to an ugly problem. Considering all the photos we received from a simple request to friends and associates to send us a photo of broken cables, we are convinced of the enormous need for the MySaver cable protector.

MySaver comes to solve this problem of cables for iDevices and consists of a plastic attachment that we mount at the connection point between the cable and the USB plug. Mounting this accessory prevents the cable from bending at that connection point and implicitly prevents it from breaking after long use. MySaver Pro comes ready-assembled on a cable for iDevices, so you will be able to easily replace an already damaged cable. The project is interesting, it seems to have attracted many supporters, but if the package sold online will not have more accessories for more cables, then the price of $20/$25 seems unjustified considering that a cable for iDevices costs the same a lot.

The financing of this project could take place in September if the necessary amount of money is raised and somewhere around October - November we might see the first products available for purchase.
