Apple blocks the possibility of identifying iDevices by UDID

Last night Apple released iOS 5 beta 6 and in the changelog published in the portal dedicated to application developers was discovered a very important aspect for the future of game companies or those who advertise for mobile platforms. Apple has decided that it is time to block the access of application developers to the UDIDs of iDevices so that no application will be able to recognize our device unless the developers make a special system of IDs for each individual application. Basically, only Apple will have the opportunity to identify iDevices by their UDID, and developers will have to make their own systems.

Deprecated in iOS 5.0

uniqueIdentifier
An alphanumeric string unique to each device based on various hardware details. (read-only) (Deprecated in iOS 5.0. Instead, create a unique identifier specific to your app.)

This measure affects especially the game producers, it affects the advertising companies on mobile platforms, etc., because each of them will have to make their own user registration system. The worst part for this kind of companies is that they will have to rebuild their user databases considering that starting with iOS 5 beta 6 they will no longer be able to identify any terminal. This decision could be related to strengthening the security system of users' personal data, or we simply see a method by which Apple tries to create an advantage over other advertising platforms or other competing Game Center platforms. Regardless of the reason, in iOS 5 beta 6 Apple removed the possibility to identify an iDevice by UDID.
