Tim Cook - the reason why Steve Jobs resigned?

Yesterday Steve Jobs resigned from the position of CEO held at Apple for more than a decade and Tim Cook officially became CEO after an interim period of 6 months. Although it was speculated that the poor health of Steve Jobs would be the main reason for this resignation, in reality Tim Cook could be the real reason why Jobs would have decided to give up the title of CEO. It seems like a lot of Silicon Valley companies would be interested to hire Tim Cook and Steve Jobs would have given up his title of president in favor of the one who contributed so much to the development of Apple.

Practically, Steve Jobs remains the president of Apple's board of directors, he remains a member of the board of directors, he has the same power as before, but he does not have the title of CEO. Steve Jobs preferred to take a step back to give Tim Cook the opportunity to lead Apple before another company offered him a much more attractive position. If Steve Jobs had died while he was CEO then Tim Cook might have been overlooked in the search for another president for Apple but given that Steve Jobs had already offered him the position, no matter what happens with the founder of the company Cook will remain president in the future.

Of course, this is just a theory and it could be valid considering that Jobs has been on medical leave for half a year, Cook was interim, we all got used to him in charge and now the whole change has become official. Steve Jobs could theoretically return as CEO of Apple in the future, but I think that Tim Cook will have the chance to leave his mark on the company.
